The 12th International Dance Open Ballet Festival was held from April 18th to the 22nd in the magnificent city of St. Petersburg on TÜCHLER’s dance flooring CONSOR. Together with her team, the organizer and former ballerina of the Mariinsky Theatre, Ekaterina Galanova, welcomed solo dancers, and for the first time ever, 20 international ballet companies. Among them were renowned ballet companies such as the Slovene National Theatre (Maribor), the Semperoper Ballett (Dresden), the Bolshoi Theatre (Moscow), the Mariinsky Theatre (St. Petersburg), the Staatsballett Berlin and the American Ballet Theatre (New York). The best dancers in the world came together for this 5-day event and showed their unique skills on the dance flooring CONSOR.

TÜCHLER made sure everyone got off on the right foot with their dance flooring CONSOR. This flooring was installed at both venues in the Oktyabrsky Concert Hall and the Alexandrinsky Theatre. In the last 20 years, the dance flooring CONSOR has made a name for itself in the professional ballet community. Many of the best and most renowned dance companies have already performed on this dance flooring. Today, it is impossible to imagine the international dance stage without CONSOR, as is proven by this festival. TÜCHLER is pleased to have been able to support the Dance Open Festival as the main sponsor for the dance floorings.
One of the highlights of the festival was the award ceremony for the Fourth International Ballet Award “Dance Open” in the Oktyabrsky Concert Hall on the dance flooring CONSOR. Headed by the legendary ballet dancer Natalia Makarova, the international jury honoured the winners in seven categories.

This year the “Dance Open Grand Prix” went to Lucia Lacarra from the Bavarian State Ballet. Mikhail Kaniskin & Elisa Carrillo Cabrera (Staatsoper Berlin), as well as Fabien Voranger (Dresden Semper Opera Ballet) & Jurgita Dronina (Dutch National Ballet) were honoured for best duet.

The world-class level of the festival was highlighted by other dance stars, like Daniel Ulbricht (New York City Ballet) and Joseph Gatti (Boston Ballet).

The festival came to an end with a gala performance of international stars on the main stage of the Oktyabrsky Concert Hall on TÜCHLER’s dance flooring CONSOR
